Mother, son found dead in Marlborough Township

Police are investigating the shooting deaths of an elderly mother and her son found Tuesday morning at the Green Hill Mobile Home Park in Montgomery County.

Police are investigating the shooting deaths of an elderly mother and her son found Tuesday morning at the Green Hill Mobile Home Park in Montgomery County.

Authorities identified the two as Lorene Good, 78, and Michael Good, 45, both of 920 Lakeview Dr. in the mobile home complex just off Gravel Pike in Marlborough Township.

Police said they believed the killings to be a murder-suicide.

Family members went to the home early Tuesday and found the two dead of apparent gunshot wounds. The two likely died Monday night, police said, adding that a .22-caliber handgun was recovered.

Police said there were indications that Michael Good had recently lost his job and might have stopped taking some required medication.

A spokesman for the Montgomery County Coroner's Office declined comment. Autopsies are to be done Wednesday.

Green Hill Mobile Home Park was quiet Tuesday except for fire police, who kept reporters at bay. The trailer park sits adjacent to a wide swath of parkland along Route 29 in north-central Montgomery County.

The park's single and double-wide homes are set on neat lawns beneath tall trees amid gardens lush with climbing roses as well as early broccoli and lettuce.

One park resident said it was unusual for a major crime to happen at the complex and called it "a little scary."
