A teenage girl was fatally shot Wednesday evening about a block from where two people had been found killed in an apartment earlier in the day in the city's Brewerytown section.

The girl, believed to be 15 to 18, was shot once in the chest and once in the stomach about 7:20 at 30th and Jefferson Streets, Officer Tanya Little said.

A police vehicle rushed the victim to Temple University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 7:41.

Police were searching for a young woman, possibly 19, who was described as wearing gray overalls.

A gun was recovered at the scene, police said.

At 2:25 p.m., a man and a woman were found with multiple gunshot wounds in a second-floor apartment in the 3000 block of Redner Street, police said. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests were reported.

Several neighbors reached by phone said a man lived in the building, but they did not know him because he had not lived there long.

"I'm very disturbed by this," said one elderly resident who did not want to be identified.

There was no immediate indication that the afternoon and evening shootings were related.
