Police identify second suspect in shooting death of Trax store clerk

Police have identified the second suspect in the slaying of an overnight clerk at the Trax Food Store on the edge of Northern Liberties.

Marvell Hargrove, 17, of North Philadelphia, tried to open the store's register early May 26 as Quasheam Richburg, 20, held a shotgun to the clerk, police said Monday.

When Mustafa Shaker, a 50-year-old Egyptian immigrant with two children, resisted, Richburg shot him in the face, police said in May.

Police are still searching for Richburg, who was released from prison April 18 on $500 bail after he allegedly ran from police while carrying a 9mm handgun, police reports show.

Richburg failed to appear at a May 10 hearing and was wanted on a bench warrant at the time of the killing. He had two other robbery arrests in 2010, but those cases were dismissed after witnesses failed to show up in court, records show.

Hargrove did not have a juvenile arrest record.

Police said Hargrove, of the 2400 block of North 28th Street, is known to hang out with Richburg in the neighborhood around the Johnson Homes Complex in North Philadelphia, police said.
