Montco officials identify man killed by SEPTA train

Montgomery County officials have identified a man killed early Friday by a SEPTA train near the Pennbrook station in Lansdale.

Montgomery County officials have identified a man killed early Friday by a SEPTA train near the Pennbrook station in Lansdale.

He was Daniel G. Guinette, 52, of Hammersmyth Court, Harleysville, said Montgomery County Coroner Walter I. Hofman.

The fatality occurred at 7:40 a.m. just north of the station on the Lansdale/Doylestown Regional Rail line. The station is at Pennbrook Parkway and Church Road.

Hofman said it was a suicide.

Hofman and Jerri Williams, spokeswoman for SEPTA, said the engineer saw the man on the tracks and blew the horn, but the man did not move.

"Unfortunately, the engineer was not able to stop in time," Williams said.

Guinette's wife, Holly, reported him missing Friday. He worked for a number of years in national accounts at Unisource, a paper products firm, but left the company about two months ago, said a former colleague, Jeff Harris.
