Three Philadelphia police officers injured in two crashes
Three Philadelphia police officers were injured in two unrelated traffic accidents Sunday morning. In the first, an officer from the 14th District was driving south on Musgrave Street toward Washington Lane in East Germantown at 8:10 a.m. As his cruiser passed through the intersection on a green light, police said, a black Honda Civic entered the intersection against the red light. The cruiser hit the Honda in the driver's-side door, police said.

The officer was taken to Einstein Medical Center with a knee injury.
The Honda driver reported no injuries but was taken to the hospital for evaluation, police said.
In the second crash, two 18th District officers were responding to a call in West Philadelphia shortly before 11:30 a.m. when their cruiser struck a car and pole at the intersection of Chestnut and South 49th Streets.
The officers, who suffered facial cuts and reported neck pain, were listed in stable condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. The driver of the other car was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
