Fire displaces nine; one child critical

Three children were hospitalized with burns this morning after a fire swept through a rowhouse in Southwest Philadelphia, officials said.

Three children were hospitalized with burns this morning after a fire swept through a rowhouse in Southwest Philadelphia, officials said.

Firefighters got a report of the blaze on the 6500 block of Windsor Ave around 5:40 a.m., a fire official said. The flames were under control in about 15 minutes, and firefighters got three children out of the home. The children were taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, one of whom is in critical condition, an official said.

The Red Cross is helping nine people who were displaced by the fire.

The fire marshal is investigating.
