3-year-old boy dies after fall from window

PHILADELPHIA A 3-year-old boy died Sunday from injuries suffered after he fell from an open third-floor window in his family's Frankford apartment, Philadelphia police said.

Investigators said the child was in a room with his 4- and 2-year-old sisters, when he toppled out just after 6 p.m. on to the 1600 block of Folkrod Street.

His aunt and godmother were at the apartment at the time, but his parents were not home.

Emergency responders took the boy to St. Christopher's Hospital where he was pronounced dead five hours later, police said.
