Music theater prepares for gala

MEDIA The Media Music Theatre Company's gala celebration - 20 Years of Theatre That Sings - is scheduled for Feb. 22, 2014, according to the company's website.

On the schedule for the event are Tony Award nominiees and other actors who have been featured on the theater's stage and a preview of the 2014 holiday musical, Les Miserables.

One of the largest not-for-profit cultural organizations in the Philadelphia area, the theater has featured Wanda Sykes, Andrea McArdle, Phillip Boykin, and Kyle Lowder, among others. It bills itself as the second-largest employer in Media after the county government and says it generates nearly $3 million per year to the local economy.
