Haddonfield plans holiday kids' events

HADDONFIELD Not only will Haddonfield present fireworks at the kid-friendly time of 9 p.m. on New Year's Eve, it's bringing a range of family activities meant to include children in the celebration.

First Night Haddonfield is in its 16th year.

With music and dance performances, the celebration focuses on children 10 and younger. Entertainer Meg Russell will perform songs from her Hat Parade album during her shows in the "KidZone," Brian Richards will perform his magic act, and the Music Man "will offer surprises of his own," acording to a news release.

You won't miss the fireworks, either, as activities and performances end in time for the countdown at the outdoor stage by the Town Clock over Kings Highway.

Events begin at 6 p.m. New Year's Eve. The indoor "KidZone" is at Haddonfield Central/Middle School. Other events take place in various spaces along Kings Highway.

All indoor performances require First Night buttons, which cost $15.

Reserve buttons at firstnighthaddonfield.org, or pick them up at the Haddonfield Information Center in Kings Court from noon to 6 p.m. Monday and noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Buttons can also be picked up at the library, Carl's Sunoco, Professional Printing, Republic Bank, Susquehanna Bank, and TD Bank.
