A can-do food drive at Baldwin
BRYN MAWR After quite a buildup, pupils at the Baldwin School plan to deliver 3,000 cans of food at noon Tuesday to needy elderly citizens at the Ada Mutch Community Resource Center and Food Pantry at ElderNet.
As part of the school's 125th anniversary, it undertook a food drive dubbed "Canstruction," in which donated cans were used to build a replica model of the school's residence building.
Students, faculty, and staff were asked to donate cans not only to fit the needs of the food bank but to match the colors needed to create the structure. The finished project measured seven feet by three feet.
The cans will be delivered to the Bryn Mawr facility by sixth, seventh and eighth graders. - Inquirer staff
