Haverford High art show set for Friday

Friday art show scheduled for Haverford High

HAVERTOWN The Haverford High School Advanced Placement Art program is holding its annual art show and reception Friday.

This year's event, "Out With a Bang," features 16 one-person shows professionally mounted in the Haverford High library.

The highlight of the show - a reception with live musical entertainment and food - is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m.

The show's title refers to the longtime tenure of Haverford art teacher Mark Wangberg, who is retiring after this year.

All fees collected at the reception - $3 for students, $5 for adults - will be donated to Heifer International, an organization that provides animals to families for food and income.

The art will be on display through Monday. Some pieces will be available for purchase.
