Horse park may

expand to ease access

REVERE The Bucks County Horse Park, a 180-acre facility near Ottsville long utilized by amateur equestrians, may soon expand.

The Bucks County commissioners will vote Wednesday on whether to purchase an additional seven acres around the park, according to county spokeswoman Juliet Kelchner.

The new acreage, which would cost about $155,000, would provide more access to the park's trails, Kelchner said, so that park users can avoid going through private property to access them.

The park, created in the early 1990s, was purchased by the county in 2004. It has multiple show rings, a dressage ring, and more than 25 miles of trails. - Chris Palmer
