WEST CHESTER West Chester University opened one new building this month and is poised to break ground on a second.
Commonwealth Hall, a 649-bed residence hall at 715 S. New St., opened last week, the university said in a news release.
The building also houses the Student Health Services offices.
On Thursday, the university will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for a building that will house the College of Business and Public Affairs. It will take the place of McCarthy Hall, a dorm building built in the 1960s on Reynolds Alley that is being razed.
The university will also open its new professional testing center, in the Francis Harvey Green Library, on Friday.
