To help, you can donate money to a local food bank, host a food drive, "buy one and give one" during your next trip to the grocery store, or donate a turkey and the sides to a pantry, shelter, or food bank.

"When money is tight, and choices have to be made between heat or food, the easy choice is to stop eating," said Larry Welsch, executive director at the Chester County Food Bank. "It's hard to justify buying a holiday turkey when you can't pay for medicine."

Donations to the Chester County Food Bank are accepted at 650 Pennsylvania Dr., Exton, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, go to www.ChesterCountyfoodbank.org. - Inquirer staff
