Christmas parade set for Friday night

WEST CHESTER West Chester is ready to make merry.

The borough's 35th annual Christmas parade, complete with performers, musicians, and Santa, is to take place Friday night, beginning at 7:15.

Starting at New and Market Streets, the parade will weave through Market, Matlack, Gay, and New Streets. There will be activities and free hot cocoa on High Street.

"It's a great night in West Chester," said Mark Yoder, president of the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce, which organizes the event.

The parade kicks off West Chester's Old-Fashioned Christmas weekend, which includes concerts, theater performances, and other holiday activities.

The parade will be broadcast live and on Christmas by QVC.
