A 40-year-old man was in critical condition after being stabbed Saturday afternoon outside a restaurant in South Philadelphia, police said.

A 40-year-old man was in critical condition after being stabbed Saturday afternoon outside a restaurant in South Philadelphia, police said.

The man was attacked shortly after 3 p.m. outside an Asian restaurant in the 600 block of Washington Avenue, where he was stabbed once in the chest, authorities said.

He was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, underwent surgery and was listed in critical condition.

No arrest was immediately made, and no weapon recovered, according to police.
