Plaza makeover is underway

DOWNINGTOWN Downingtown has completed the first phase of a project to revitalize a Main Street plaza.

The installation of fencing was completed at the Armor Alley Pocket Plaza, the Downingtown Main Street Association said.

The association is working with borough government to turn the plaza into a stage for community events and a safe pedestrian thoroughfare.

The next phase of landscaping and pavement replacement will be completed in the spring. The association hopes to start using the plaza next summer.
