DELAWARE COUNTY
Dog licenses are required
MEDIA County officials are asking that dog owners give their pets a 2015 state license for the holidays.
State law requires that all dogs, three months and older, have a current license and rabies vaccination. Licenses can be obtained at the county Treasurer's Office in Media or at 14 outside vendor locations.
The fees start at $6.50 for an annual license for a spayed or neutered dog. Fees for lifetime licenses, available for spayed or neutered dogs with a microchip, are $31.50. Discounts are available for senior citizens and people with disabilities.
Failure to have a proper license can result in fines of up to $300 per unlicensed dog.
