AMBLER A historical film producer who grew up in Montgomery County is returning to his roots for a screening of his latest project,

Against the Sun.

The film tells the story of three Navy airmen who crashed their bomber in the South Pacific during World War II.

While confined to a life raft in the open ocean, with no food or water, they managed to sail more than 1,000 miles to safety, according to a news release about the film.

Kurt Graver, a producer on the film and manager of development at the American Film Co., graduated from Hatboro-Horsham High School in 2004.

The event at the Ambler Theater, 108 E. Butler Ave., will begin with a brunch Jan. 18 at 9:30 a.m., followed by the film and a "talk back" session with Graver. Tickets are $35. For more information, visit www.hhef.org/special-advance-screening-against-the-sun.

Proceeds will benefit the Hatboro-Horsham Educational Foundation, of which Graver's father is a board member. - Jessica Parks
