Cyber school celebrates new location

DOWNINGTOWN 21st Century Cyber Charter School celebrated its new Downingtown location Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house.

The virtual school for Pennsylvania students grades 6 through 12 moved from Exton to Downingtown earlier this school year.

The new building brings teachers and administrative staff under one roof in a more central location, said Louis Corominas, the school's marketing and enrollment specialist.

"It's been very exciting so far," Corominas said.

The Wallace Avenue site was formerly the administration building for the Downingtown Area School District.

Local elected officials and families attended Thursday's event, which was an opportunity for some students to meet their teachers in person

for the first time, Corominas said. State Sen. Andy Dinniman (D., Chester) provided opening remarks.
