RADNOR Villanova University announced the appointment of a dean for the College of Professional Studies.

Deborah J. Tyksinski is scheduled to become the college's founding dean June 1. The college was created a year ago to serve adult learners.

Tyksinski's "experience and passion for serving busy adults through innovative teaching will be a valuable resource as we work to bring CPS to new levels of excellence," said the Rev. Peter M. Donohue, president of the university.

Tyksinski is currently an associate provost at SUNY Polytechnic Institute, where she oversees initiatives that support online degree programs as well as faculty and student engagement, research and scholarship, and other duties.

She was previously the administrative director of the Northeast Parallel Architectures Center at Syracuse University.
