Bucks DA: Teacher exchanged explicit images with girl, 14

A Bucks County teacher has been arrested for allegedly exchanging sexually explicit photos and videos with a female student.

Joseph Becker, a 30-year-old math teacher at Pennridge North Middle School, is accused of engaging in the sexual communications with the 14-year-old student between July and November, the Bucks County District Attorney's Office said.

He is facing charges that include sexual abuse of children, corruption of minors and unlawful contact with a minor.

Prosecutors didn't release further details about he images or the teacher's alleged contact with the student.

Becker has been a long-term substitute teacher for the Pennridge School District for about a year, according to a district spokesman.

The district said it was made aware of the investigation into an employee Friday morning.

"Since the investigation is still underway, we are not at liberty to comment further at this time," Superintendent Jacqueline Rattigan said in a statement. "We will cooperate fully with the authorities."

Becker was slated to be arraigned Friday afternoon.
