A neurosurgeon who shot and wounded his wife inside their Cherry Hill home in August 2004 was sentenced to eight years in prison yesterday in Camden County Superior Court.

Joseph Coladonato, 64, who had been charged with attempted murder, pleaded guilty last month to aggravated assault.

Eileen Coladonato had moved out of the house in the Barclay Farm section a few days before the shooting but returned to pick up asthma medication for her daughter. While at the house, the couple had a confrontation, and Coladonato shot at his estranged wife, who sustained a chest wound.
