Singing, not scandal, puts Antonella off 'Idol'

She survived the scandal, but, in the end, Antonella Barba could not surmount her singing.

The 20-year-old college student from Point Pleasant, N.J., whose salacious snapshots sparked an Internet firestorm, was dismissed from American Idol last night along with Jared Cotter, Sabrina Sloan and Sundance Head.

Barba remained mum about the controversy stirred up by her provocative poses, but her friends insisted that the girl in the most graphic pictures making the rounds was not Barba.

Although her singing grew increasingly shaky as the competition went along, Barba should have no trouble capitalizing on her sudden notoriety.

She reportedly has already been swamped with offers, from businesses both pornographic and legitimate.
