In a story yesterday about schools reacting to the heat, a water ice shop at Seventh and Christian Streets in South Philadelphia was incorrectly identified. It is John's Water Ice.

A photograph Sunday in the Sports section showed three members of Wisconsin's victorious men's rowing team at a race on the Cooper River, not the women's squad as the caption stated.

An article yesterday incorrectly reported Philadelphia's murder rate. The rate was 27.2 per 100,000 inhabitants last year, compared with 27.8 in 2006.

Column headings were reversed in a chart on pending home sales in the Philadelphia region in the Business section yesterday. The column headed "April 2008" contained figures for 2007, and the column labeled "April 2007" had the 2008 figures.
