Letters: White House spreads lies about Obamacare

Contrary to your editorial, President Obama and his allies are to blame for the faltering fate of Obamacare, as they are the ones who have been spreading falsehoods about their program ("The doctor in the house," Sunday).

According to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, the Democrat proposals do not bend the cost curve of health-care spending and would burst the budget.

Factcheck.org disputes Obama's assertion that all people will be able to keep their current health plan if they like it, and claims that legislation backed by the White House would allow abortions to be covered by a federal plan and by federally subsidized private plans.

And the Congressional Research Service notes that the leading House bill lacks any restrictions on noncitizens, legal and illegal, participating in a Health Insurance Exchange, and has no provision requiring those seeking coverage to prove citizenship.
