Man shot by Del. cop ID'd

WILMINGTON, DEL.

- Wilmington police have identified a man who was fatally shot during a confrontation with an officer in a vacant store.

Yusef Reynolds, 41, of Galloway, N.J., was shot late Saturday inside the store on West 9th Street. Police said a patrol officer spotted someone entering the store and followed him inside.

Cops said Reynolds ignored the officer's commands and ran into the basement, where he attacked the officer. Police said the officer shot Reynolds after nonlethal attempts to stop the assault failed.

The officer, who has not been identified, has been placed on administrative leave.
