4 found shot to death at home

A coroner says autopsies are planned for four people, including two children, who were shot in the northern Illinois community of Rockford.

Police say a mother, her boyfriend, and her two boys were found dead in a brick duplex late Saturday. The Rockford Register Star reported that authorities identified the victims as Martia Flint and Demontae Rhodes, both 24; Tyrone Smith III, 6; and Tobias K. Smith, 4.

The Winnebago County coroner said autopsies were planned Monday.

Assistant Deputy Chief Patrick Hoey said neighbors reported hearing pounding on a door before gunshots rang out. No arrests have been made and the motive is unknown.

Family gathered at Flint's grandmother's house Sunday. They remembered her as a devoted mother and Rhodes as a good boyfriend. - AP
