George H.W. Bush back home

After spending nearly a week in a Houston hospital, former President George H.W. Bush was released Tuesday and is now resting at home.

Bush, 90, who is the nation's oldest living former president, was taken to Houston Methodist Hospital last week as a precaution after experiencing shortness of breath, according to a statement from his office.

"He is now resting at home, grateful to the doctors and nurses for their superb care," Jim McGrath, his spokesman, said in a statement.

In November 2012, Bush went to Houston Methodist with a persistent cough. He developed a fever and stayed nearly two months.
