Arrangements for Saturday's funeral for Philadelphia Police Officer Robert Wilson III, who was killed in the line of duty last week, are in place.

The viewing will be from 7 to 10 a.m. at the Palestra, 235 S. 33d St., followed by a funeral service beginning at 10.

Between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m., police warn, the area surrounding the Palestra will be extremely congested.

Interment is in Fernwood Cemetery, 6501 Baltimore Ave., Lansdowne.

At noon, the funeral cortege will proceed to Fernwood Cemetery, necessitating the following road closures: Walnut Street between Schuylkill Avenue and 63d Street; 63d Street-Cobbs Creek Parkway between Walnut and 61st Streets; 61st from Cobbs Creek to Baltimore Avenue; and Baltimore Avenue between 61st and Church Lane.

Police will be assigned along the route to assist motorists. However, motorists should expect delays and congestion in the area of the Palestra and along the route to the cemetery.
