A machete-wielding man who was shot during a rampage at New Orleans' international airport died Saturday, shortly after authorities revealed he also had a bag of six jars with gasoline-soaked cloth wicks.
Richard White, 63, had sprayed a Transportation Security Administration agent and others with wasp killer before chasing the agent through a concourse - and in the direction of a sheriff's deputy, who drew her gun and fired three times. Sheriff Newell Normand said White had a history of mental-health problems and his family was cooperating with investigators. "Fortunately, he didn't seriously injure anybody," Normand said. - AP
