Four tourists from Britain and two from Australia, and the New Zealand pilot, died when a helicopter crashed on a scenic New Zealand glacier, police said. Rescuers on Sunday were working to recover the bodies from Fox Glacier, where the wreckage remained wedged in a crevasse. Police said the rugged terrain was making the operation "extremely challenging."

Police named the victims as Britons Nigel Charlton, 66; Cynthia Charlton, 70; Katharine Walker, 51; and Andrew Virco, 50; Australians Leang Sovannmony, 27, and Josephine Gibson, 29; and New Zealand pilot Mitchell Gameren, 28. Fox Glacier is a popular tourist destination on New Zealand's South Island. Grey District Mayor Tony Kokshoorn said the weather was "not ideal for helicopter flying," with intermittent rain showers and low clouds. - AP
