1 suspected dead in South Jersey crash
A South Jersey crash this morning is believed to have left one person dead and has shut down a highway for hours.
New Jersey State Police said the accident was reported just after 5:45 a.m. on southbound Route 55 in Vineland.
Dispatchers received a report of a crashed vehicle and a person in the roadway.
Troopers said the state police's fatal accident investigation unit had been called to the scene.
Further details about the crash weren't immediately available.
Southbound cars on Route 55 were being diverted off the highway at exit 39A, police said.
