Police identify man who died in Chesco crash

Law enforcement authorities yesterday identified a Lancaster County man who died in Chester County on Saturday after allegedly committing an armed robbery and trying to flee police. Jesus Muriel-Torres, 25, of Lancaster, was stopped by Valley Township police for speeding. A short time earlier, according to state police, he had robbed the Sunoco A Plus store in West Sadsbury Township and escaped with $160 in cash and coins. While speaking to an officer, Muriel-Torres sped away from the traffic stop and lost control of his vehicle, which struck an oncoming car. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The other motorist was treated for injuries at Lancaster General Hospital and released.
