Assault charges added in Glenolden man's case
A Delaware County man accused of multiple burglaries had charges of aggravated assault added to his warrant after resisting arrest last week, police said yesterday.
When six officers tried to apprehend Michael Howard Schrass, 30, of Glenolden, on Friday in the parking lot of Cappelli Excavating in Concord Township, Schrass got into his car and tried to flee, police said. His vehicle struck a car occupied by detectives from Bethel Township and Westtown-East Goshen, then headed toward a state trooper who jumped out of the way, police said.
Schrass, who has been linked to 12 burglaries in Chester and Delaware Counties, including in New Garden, Aston, Bethel and Concord Townships, was remanded to the Delaware County prison with bail set at $75,000, police said.
