$10,000 reward posted in machine-gun theft

A $10,000 reward has been posted for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for a machine-gun heist Sunday.

The Philadelphia division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which announced the reward yesterday, said the theft of more than 20 firearms, including numerous machine guns, occurred from a truck owned by a federally licensed gun dealer from Pittsburgh.

The dealer had finished working a gun show at the Valley Forge Convention Center, and had stopped for dinner in King of Prussia, the ATF said.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to being contact the ATF at 1-800-283-4867 or the Upper Merion Police Department at 610-265-3232.
