PRINCETON - Police say a midday gun scare yesterday at Princeton University began when four teenage boys found a toy gun on campus.
The campus was locked down for about a half-hour after someone reported seeing a male with a handgun. Borough Police Officer Garrett Brown said the juveniles found the toy while going through items discarded by Princeton students who recently moved out of dorms.
A witness saw one of the boys stick the gun in his waistband and thought it was real. Brown said the youths did not realize they were causing an alarm. The teenagers were questioned and released. It was not clear whether they were expected to be charged. - AP
