WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. - A company that has shuttled passengers between the Jersey Shore and Newark and New York City airports for more than 30 years is closing. Olympic Airporter says its service will end on Friday because of higher costs and slowing demand.

The company operates 19 trips a day and charges $24 to $38 each way. Parking at Newark Liberty International Airport is $18 a day. The company has 128 full- and part-time employees and 90 vehicles.

Olympic raised prices 10 percent two months ago, but said that was not enough to offset a decline in travelers and higher gasoline and insurance costs. - AP
