Alan Kushner, the Bala Cynwyd chiropractor accused of putting a hit out on his wife of 30 years, was found guilty yesterday of solicitation to murder after a 11/2-week trial.
A Montgomery County Court jury deliberated for about five hours before returning a mixed verdict; Kushner, 58, was found not guilty of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Prosecutors said that in the midst of a divorce with $5 million at stake, Kushner had asked patients to kill his wife, Sarran, who was shot in a wrist May 16, 2008, in the driveway of the Kushners' home.Deputy District Attorney Thomas W. McGoldrick said he planned to ask Judge Steven T. O'Neill for the maximum sentence, 10 to 20 years. Sentencing has not been scheduled, and Kushner remains jailed without bail. - Derrick Nunnally
