Teen charged in fatal stabbing of stepfather

A teenager has been arrested in the fatal stabbing of his stepfather during a dispute inside the teen's North Philadelphia home, police said yesterday.

Tymere Simms, 17, of the 1400 block of West Allegheny Avenue, was charged with murder in the death of Ronell Washington, 32, of the 300 block of West Queen Lane, Germantown. Police said Simms stabbed Washington multiple times in the upper torso during an argument about 2 p.m. Thursday.

Washington was pronounced dead at 2:35 at Temple University Hospital. Simms was taken into custody at the scene. - Sam Wood
