Lower Merion police seek man in sexual assault

Lower Merion Township police were looking yesterday for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a jogger Monday night near Suburban Square in Ardmore.

A man with a gun forced a 23-year-old woman who was jogging near Glenn and St. George's Roads into an area concealed by shrubs, where he assaulted her sexually about 8:30 p.m., police said. He fled after the woman grabbed the weapon, which turned out to be a BB gun, police said.

Police described the attacker as a pudgy white man in his early to mid-20s, 5-foot-10, with curly, dark-blond hair. Anyone with information is asked to call Lower Merion police at 610-649-1000. - Derrick Nunnally
