Police seeking clues in Kensington double shooting

Homicide detectives yesterday continued to assemble details of a double shooting in Kensington Monday night that left one man dead and the other in a hospital.

Shortly before 11 p.m. Monday, police were called to 800 block of East Russell Street, where they saw some people trying to carry an 18-year-old Hispanic man to a car. The officers took the man, who had been shot in the back, to Temple University Hospital. He was pronounced dead at 11:12 p.m. His name was not released yesterday pending family notification.

An 18-year-old African American man whose name was not released was found shot in the back nearby in the 3400 block of G Street, police said. Police took him to Temple, where he was listed in stable condition yesterday.

Police reported no arrests, and no other details were available. - Robert Moran
