Two killed in Roosevelt Blvd. crash identified

Two young men killed Sunday night when their car ran into the rear of a flatbed tow truck on Roosevelt Boulevard in Northeast Philadelphia have been identified as neighborhood friends from the Castor section.

Police said the driver was Witchy Louis, 21, of the 7200 block of Souder Street. His passenger was Shahariar Ahmed Rabbi, 20, of the 7100 block of Kindred Street.

They were killed about 8:45 p.m. when their northbound Toyota Camry ran under the flatbed of the tow truck on the boulevard near Haldeman Avenue.

Investigators had not determined the cause of the crash and were awaiting toxicology tests. - Inquirer staff
