Battleship fund-raiser to honor Wee Willie Webber

WHAT-AM (1340) and the supporters of the battleship New Jersey memorial will use their "Swing and Sway on the Big J" event June 11 to honor William W. Webber, the Philadelphia radio and television personality known as Wee Willie, who died May 23. June 11 would have been Webber's 81st birthday.

The City Rhythm Orchestra will perform on the fantail of the battleship, which is on the Camden waterfront. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at the radio station, at the battleship ticket office, or online at www.am1340what.com or battleshipnewjersey.org . Proceeds benefit the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia and the battleship.
