The identity of a 44-year-old woman killed while trying to rescue her dog after it ran onto SEPTA rail tracks Friday is to be released by Lower Merion police, a spokesman for the transit service said Sunday.

A dispatcher at the Lower Merion police station said that information would probably be available Monday. The woman was struck at the Bryn Mawr station shortly before 6 p.m. Friday. Lower Merion police said she was from out of state. The dog, a chihuahua, survived. - Nathan Gorenstein
