Authorities on Monday suspended a search for a New York City woman who fell into the Delaware River on Sunday afternoon. Maribel Gonzalez, 44, of the Richmond Hill section of Queens, was trying to transfer from a disabled boat to an inflatable raft when she entered the river around 4:30 p.m., authorities said. She was not wearing a life jacket. Earlier reports were incorrect about her two daughters being rescued by a person on a personal water craft, authorities said. The girls never left the 20-foot boat, said Coast Guard Petty Officer Christopher McLaughlin. Coast Guard units, New Jersey state police and local authorities searched more than 44 square miles near No Name Island, off National Park in Gloucester County, on Sunday and Monday, authorities said. - Darran Simon
