Police exchange fire with armed-robbery suspect

Two police officers exchanged gunfire early Sunday morning with a man robbing a 7-Eleven store in Northeast Philadelphia, police said. There were no injuries.

Two police officers exchanged gunfire early Sunday morning with a man robbing a 7-Eleven store in Northeast Philadelphia, police said. There were no injuries.

The suspect in the 2:18 a.m. shooting incident at 1900 Welsh Rd., Joseph M. Brock, 20, of the 1100 block of Gilham Street, fled and is considered armed and dangerous, police said.

Police are also searching for Brock in connection with gunpoint robberies at the Lukoil gas station at 12001 Roosevelt Blvd. and a Wawa at Philmont Avenue and Byberry Road.

Brock has been arrested four times, for driving under the influence, arson, burglary, and theft, police said. - Harold Brubaker
