New Jersey casino regulators have seized more than $2,600 from 29 suspected underage gamblers at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City.
The state Division of Gaming Enforcement sought the forfeiture after the patrons were found gambling without proper identification proving they were at or over the legal gambling age of 21. Authorities did not say when the apprehensions were made.
The money will be split between state-funded programs to help senior citizens with prescription medication and transportation, and programs to help compulsive gamblers. The decision was approved July 8 and made public Monday. - AP
