N.J. court lets Allred represent ex-casino servers
A New Jersey court will allow celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred to represent nine cocktail servers who are suing Resorts Casino Hotel, alleging they were fired in favor of younger servers who look better in the skimpy costumes the casino requires them to wear.
A New Jersey court will allow celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred to represent nine cocktail servers who are suing Resorts Casino Hotel, alleging they were fired in favor of younger servers who look better in the skimpy costumes the casino requires them to wear.
The casino had sought to bar Allred from the case, arguing that she isn't licensed to practice in New Jersey. But Superior Court Judge Joseph Marczyk, in a decision made public Tuesday, allowed Allred and her partner Nathan Goldberg to participate in the case, which is being handled by another lawyer licensed to practice in New Jersey.
Allred has a track record of recovering multimillion-dollar verdicts or settlements in discrimination and sexual-harassment cases. - AP
