A two-car accident Friday in Chester County left one driver dead, another hospitalized, and shut down Route 202 for more than five hours.

A two-car accident Friday in Chester County left one driver dead, another hospitalized, and shut down Route 202 for more than five hours.

The collision involving two northbound vehicles, an SUV and pickup, occurred at 10:21 a.m. near Boot Road and the Route 30 Bypass.

The driver of the pickup, a 54-year-old man from Delaware, was ejected from the vehicle. He later died at Paoli Hospital. The SUV traveled across the median and into the southbound lane. The driver, a 21-year-old Hatboro woman, was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening, according to Detective Scott Pezick of West Whiteland police. - Mari A. Schaefer
